So, we've seen that the uber German sedan, the Audi S8 hits 60 nearly as fast (faster?) than the C6 ZR1. Now, APR has released their tune for the 4.0 TSI motor... I'm shocked. APR systems are known to be bulletproof with reliability and daily driveability, and their new ECU upgrade gives that motor 647 hp(!!!) with nearly zero compromise in reliability. I need mo monies, man. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! their website with more info. Can anyone think of a better stock package than the S8? Better cars like the S8 to have slightly modified and deliver the same power and reliability?

I thought they already had a tune out for the 4.0 turbo.
Either way, that number is absurd, and yeah, APR is known for their tunes being well-engineered to preserve the engine.
The only other engine I've seen make this much power from a tune is the H6 in the 911 Turbo

That's redonkulous.
They're indeed on top of their game. My dad bought an A6 with the 3.0T, and between that motor and that transmission, that car moves far quicker than anything with that kind of weight and "only" 325 HP has any right to.

Same motor in the B8 S4. I've looked at getting one of those in a year so when the $30-35k certified ones start coming around. With an APR stage 1 those push out nearly 400 hp... total sleeper car. Just watch the Chris Harris S4 vs RS4 avant video and that's all the proof you'll need.

It's missing 2 cylinders and soul.

This S6 was literally the biggest letdown ever. Same goes for the S8 of the same era.

Most people agree that Audi really sandbags their HP numbers.

That was supposed to be an S8 >.<
But still, an AWD V10 luxury sports car was a let down? Never mind that R&T called the V10 S8 the best luxury performance car made to-date when it was launched (granted that's R&T but you get it). You let me know how your turbo rebuilds go...

The V10 made lots of pretty noise but didn't really go anywhere fast.
The 4.0T has plenty of character, trust me.

I generally like the A8/S8 over the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class since it's comparably underrated and subliminal.

13.1sec 1/4 mile and 60mph in 5 seconds is definitely fast for a 4,400lb land yacht.

But disappointing for something with a V10, and also a whole second slower to 60 than the following model.
That massive chunk of engine up there also made the car really nose-heavy, even more so than most Audis of that generation.
